JOB TITLE:          Group Accountant 

REPORTING TO:  Chief Accountant

DURATION:          Permanent 

SALARY:              £60,000 - £65,000
                    

Objectives of Role:

To assist in the various financial and management reporting requirements of both groups (U.S. listed entities).

The Company:

Our client, a private equity backed European Renewable Energy Platform have recently entered the UK market, acquiring several power generation assets. They are now looking to kick-start their growth in this market and seeking to appoint a Financial Controller.

 

Due to rapid expansion, we are seeking a bright and spirited Financial Reporting Manager with a top 10 practice audit background, who has the capacity to grow with the company.


Areas of Responsibility:

US Listed Entities:

To assist with ensuring that the financial results of the group are reported accurately and on time. To assist with the preparation of the quarterly 6K Forms. To support the finance team during quarterly and annual audits. To assist in the preparation of both Company’s annual financial statements and 20-F for submission to the SEC.

 

UK Statutory accounts:

To assist in the annual statutory audits of the UK subsidiary (& related) companies, including preparation and filing of statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP including liaising with the auditors and dealing with their questions.

 

 

Management Reporting:

To assist in the review and completion of the monthly and quarterly group reporting pack.

 

Corporate accounting:

  To assist in the: 

  • preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting packages

  • preparation of the balance sheet reconciliations

  • maintenance of the general ledgers

  • preparation of the SEC reporting requirements (ie Form 6K,  Form 20F, XBRL)

 

Sarbanes Oxley

To assist in coordinating the testing of the company’s internal controls by liaising with the auditors and other service providers. Working closely with the Financial Reporting Manager for the enforcement of all controls governing the group’s Financial Reporting cycle, including maintaining and ensuring all the quarterly audit files are SOX compliant and for updating the respective documentation for the Financial Reporting cycle.

 

Ad hoc Projects

To assist and contribute towards the completion of special projects, such as debt and equity offerings.


Person Specification:

  • ACA, ACCA qualified (newly qualified to two years post qualification experience)

  • Good planning / time management skills

  • Motivation to succeed in a fast-paced environment

  • Microsoft Office – advanced Excel

  • Previously worked for a top 10 accountancy practice, preferably auditing shipping or Oil & Gas clients.

  • US GAAP experience (preferable but not required)

  • Candidate should have strong attention to detail, good communication skills, be a team player and be self-motivated with a "hands-on" approach to getting things done. The ability to organize, plan and prioritise tasks effectively and being logical.
